On Friday October 6th at 5 p.m., the Douglas community Centres’ Happy Hour will be especially dedicated to all Douglastown newcomers! This is a great opportunity to get together with old friends or make new ones. Bring your refreshments and a dish to share; a voluntary contribution would be appreciated.
On Sunday October 15th, at the Douglas community Centre, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., we welcome everyone to our monthly breakfast. Join friends and neighbors for an excellent breakfast with a traditional menu. $8 for adults (12 & over), $4 for children (5-11 years) would be appreciated (ages 4 and under, free).
Spooktacular Halloween Party
On Saturday, October 21st at 6 pm all little ghosts and ghouls are welcome to the Douglas community Centre’s pre-halloween party organized by several community members. There will be activities, snacks, a haunted maze (weather permitting), music and more! $2 entrance fee per child.
On Friday, October 27th at 5 pm, join us for a German inspired Oktoberfest evening! There will be a traditional Oktoberfest menu of sausages, fresh baked buns and sauerkraut. The entrance fee is $5. Bar service.
Yoga classes will be offered from October 3rd to December 10th. Sivananda yoga, open yoga class: Wednesday from 6 h 30 pm to 7 h 30 pm. You can sign up for the entire 10-week session for $90 or pay $10 per course. Parent-child Yoga: Tuesdays from 5:30 pm till 6:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 am till 10 am. For adults (ages 14 and up), the cost is 10$/session. For children (ages 8 and up), the cost is 3$/session. Line dancing class
Starting on Friday, October 6th from 7-9 pm, join us for weekly line dancing classes at the Douglas community Centre. Cost: $7/person. The teacher is Olivia Rehel. Jog your mind: Cognitive Vitality Workshops for Seniors
Vision Gaspé-Percé Now will be providing a series of ten workshops for seniors who want to know more about the effects of normal aging on memory. The objectives are to learn about memory, learn tricks to help you remember important things and try fun activities to challenge your brain. The workshops will be held at the Douglas community Centre starting on Thursday October 26th 2017 until Thursday December 28th 2017 from 10 am to 12 pm. Maximum of 15 people.
